Samantha A. Price, Ph.D.
I am an Assistant Professor in the Department of Biological Sciences at Clemson University. Prior to my current position I was an Assistant Project Scientist in the Department of Evolution and Ecology at the University of California Davis and prior to that I was a postdoctoral researcher with Peter Wainwright at UC Davis (2008-2011) and a postdoctoral fellow at the National Evolutionary Synthesis Center (NESCent - now sadly defunct) based at Duke University (2005-2008). I completed my Ph.D. at the University of Virginia and my undergraduate degree at Oxford University (UK).
I am PI/Co-PI on two National Science Foundation grants from the Division of Environmental Biology:
NSF DEB-1556953. Collaborative Research: “Disentangling the ecological drivers of teleost body form diversity”
PI: Price, S.A & Co-PI: Wainwright, P.C.
NSF DEB-1256894. Collaborative Research: “Integrating Fossil And Modern Evidence To Determine The Role Of Diet In Mammalian Diversification” PI Hopkins, S. S. B. & Co-PI Price, S. A. .
In addition to my two primary collaborators I work with a lot of fantastic people and their labs including: Lars Schmitz at Keck Science Center Claremont Colleges, Graham Slater at the University of Chicago and Cristian Hernandez at the Universidad de Concepción.
